New shot combo aims to tame hepatitis b
NCT ID NCT07183306
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This early-stage trial tests two new injections (HT-101 and HT-102) in 86 people with chronic hepatitis B. Participants receive the shots every 4 weeks, along with standard antiviral pills. The main goal is to check safety and how the body processes the drugs, while also looking at whether they can lower hepatitis B virus levels. It's too early to know if this will be a better treatment option.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
HT-101 and HT-102 injections
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new way to control chronic hepatitis B, possibly reducing the need for lifelong daily pills.
What could go wrong
This is an early (Phase 1/2) and small trial (86 people), so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. The treatment may not work or could have side effects.
