HPV vaccine as a weapon: new study tests if one shot can stop virus spread

NCT ID NCT07303751

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of the HPV vaccine can make the virus less contagious in women who already have a high-risk HPV infection. Researchers will compare cervical samples from 80 vaccinated and unvaccinated women to see if vaccine-induced antibodies neutralize the virus. The goal is to reduce transmission, not to cure the infection.
