First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether messages designed specifically for African American parents can increase their willingness to give the HPV vaccine to their daughters. About 265 parents of girls aged 8-17 who haven't had the vaccine will be shown either culturally targeted messages, general educational messages, or no messages. Researchers will then measure parents' attitudes, intentions, and whether they actually start the vaccine series within six months.
