Vaccine tested to stop cervical cell problems from coming back

NCT ID NCT03979014

Summary

This study tested whether giving the Gardasil 9 HPV vaccine to women right after they had surgery to remove abnormal cervical cells could better prevent future infections and cell problems. Over 1,000 women aged 18-55 who had this surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the vaccine series or standard observation. The goal was to see if the vaccine, given alongside standard care, could help keep the cervix healthy long-term.
