First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study is for people with a type of throat cancer linked to HPV that has a good outlook. Researchers want to see if using a less intense combination of radiation and chemotherapy can control the cancer just as well as the standard stronger treatment, but with fewer side effects. About 250 adults with HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer will take part. The approach is personalized based on the specific HPV type and levels of viral DNA in the blood.
