Blood test may predict throat cancer comeback

NCT ID NCT04564989

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study follows 220 people with HPV-related throat cancer to see if a simple blood test for HPV DNA and changes in two genes (TRAF3 and CYLD) can predict if the cancer will come back after treatment. Participants will give blood samples and fill out quality-of-life questionnaires over time. The goal is to find better ways to watch for recurrence without relying only on scans.
