10-Year hunt for Cancer-Causing HPV clues

NCT ID NCT06522256

Summary

This study aims to understand how certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) change over time and which specific changes are linked to a higher risk of developing anal cancer or serious pre-cancerous growths. Researchers are re-examining about 100 people who were part of a previous HIV prevention study 10 years ago, checking for cell changes and analyzing their stored HPV samples. The goal is to identify biological markers that could one day help predict who is most at risk for cancer.
