Climate change poses hidden risk for diabetes patients: study tests Temperature's effect on insulin

NCT ID NCT07491133

Summary

This study aims to understand how hot and cold weather affects blood sugar control in adults with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will monitor 30 participants as they spend time in specially controlled rooms set to cold, normal, and hot/humid temperatures. The goal is to see if extreme temperatures change how insulin is absorbed and if people with diabetes need special guidance during heat waves or cold snaps.
