Scientists block hormones to unlock secrets of the Brain's blood supply

NCT ID NCT07212712

Summary

This study aims to understand how the sex hormones estrogen and testosterone directly control blood flow to the brain. Researchers will temporarily block hormone production in 50 healthy young men and women, then give the hormones back, while measuring brain blood flow at rest and during stress. The goal is to discover fundamental differences between men and women to help develop better future treatments for brain injuries and diseases like stroke and dementia.
