Scientists track how a hospital stay for a virus can steal an older Person's independence

NCT ID NCT07388173

Summary

This international study aims to understand how a serious respiratory infection, like the flu or COVID-19, affects an older person's ability to live independently after a hospital stay. Researchers will follow 1,600 adults aged 60 and older who are hospitalized with a confirmed virus. The goal is to measure changes in their ability to perform daily tasks over six months to better inform future prevention and vaccination strategies.
