First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at how the way a physiotherapist talks about virtual reality (VR) affects what people with chronic pain think and expect from treatment. 115 adults with chronic muscle or joint pain watched a video where a physio described VR either positively (placebo) or negatively (nocebo). The goal was to see if these different messages changed how believable and promising the treatment seemed to them.
