Study asks: do you really need that MRI?
NCT ID NCT07158892
Summary
This study aims to understand how patients decide whether to get imaging tests like X-rays or MRIs for common joint, tendon, and nerve conditions. Researchers will compare how a structured conversation versus basic written information affects patients' desire for testing and their confidence in the decision. The study involves 220 adults visiting a specialty clinic who will read a scenario and complete a survey, but it does not affect their actual medical care.
