Mind over muscle: can just thinking about pain change how you walk?
NCT ID NCT07251387
Summary
This study aims to understand how the expectation of pain affects muscle coordination during walking. Researchers will compare two groups of healthy adults: one with a past painful experience and one without. Both groups will be told a harmless cream might cause pain, and their walking patterns will be measured to see if expectation alone changes movement.
