Scientists probe link between Athletes' drive and brain chemistry

NCT ID NCT07235124

Summary

This completed study aimed to understand how an athlete's motivation connects to changes in their body's chemistry during intense exercise. Researchers measured hormone and brain chemical levels in 24 national-level male rowers before, immediately after, and one hour after a strenuous 6000-meter rowing test. The goal was to see if athletes with higher motivation scores showed different chemical responses, which could help explain performance and recovery.
