Scientists test how breathing goes haywire in thin air
NCT ID NCT07409649
Summary
This study aims to understand how brief periods of low oxygen affect the body's automatic breathing control system. Researchers will expose 40 healthy volunteers to controlled low-oxygen air for six hours and measure changes in their breathing patterns. The goal is to learn more about what causes unstable breathing in conditions like sleep apnea, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
