Scientists map how low blood sugar stresses your brain
NCT ID NCT03867344
Summary
This study aimed to understand how a physical stressor—moderately low blood sugar—affects connections in the brain and the body's automatic nervous system, which controls things like heart rate and blood pressure. Researchers used brain scans and monitored bodily functions in 74 healthy volunteers after inducing low blood sugar. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about how the brain responds to and recovers from this type of stress, which is common in people with diabetes.
