Scientists probe gut Bugs' role in cholesterol drug effectiveness
NCT ID NCT04098003
Summary
This study aims to understand how gut bacteria influence how well a common cholesterol medication works, and how the medication itself changes gut bacteria. Researchers will give healthy volunteers either the cholesterol drug rosuvastatin or a placebo for 8 weeks and track changes in their gut bacteria and cholesterol levels. The goal is to learn more about the relationship between our gut microbiome and medication response.
