Scientists probe Mouth's healing secrets
NCT ID NCT04805320
Summary
This study aims to understand how existing gum inflammation affects the body's natural healing process after a tooth is removed. Researchers will recruit 25 adults who need a back tooth extracted. They will take small tissue samples from the extraction site right after the tooth is pulled and again two weeks later to measure the immune cells involved in healing.
