First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at how different types of fat affect muscle insulin resistance, a key factor in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Healthy adults receive a special fat infusion through a tube into the small intestine overnight, then undergo tests to measure how their muscles process fat and respond to insulin. The goal is to understand which fat molecules cause insulin resistance, which could lead to better prevention or treatment strategies.
