Surgery Drug's blood sugar effects under the microscope

NCT ID NCT07573930

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026

Summary

This study watches how a standard dose of dexamethasone, a drug often given during surgery, changes blood sugar levels in 100 adults having non-cardiac surgery. Participants wear a continuous glucose monitor for 10 days after surgery, and their blood sugar is also checked with finger-prick tests. The goal is to learn more about blood sugar patterns, not to change treatment.
