Sugar shock: anesthesia Drug's hidden effect on blood glucose revealed
NCT ID NCT07573930
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study watches how a standard dose of dexamethasone, a drug often given during anesthesia, changes blood sugar levels in 100 adults having non-cardiac surgery. Participants wear a continuous glucose monitor for 10 days to track sugar swings more closely than finger-prick tests. The goal is to understand these changes better, not to test a new treatment.
