Could your anemia be hiding a diabetes risk? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07463612

Summary

This study aims to understand if having different types of anemia causes the HbA1c blood test—commonly used to screen for diabetes—to give falsely high or low readings in people who do not have diabetes. Researchers will compare test results from 100 non-diabetic adults with various anemias (like iron or vitamin deficiency) to a group without anemia. The goal is to improve the accuracy of this important health screening tool.
