Summary

This study aims to understand exactly how Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) helps people reduce their drinking. Researchers are following 192 adults who are new to AA, collecting daily reports on their behaviors, thoughts, and social support over six months. The goal is to identify which specific AA activities and personal changes are most strongly linked to staying sober, in order to improve future treatment programs.
