Hospitals screen for superbugs: does it prevent infections?

NCT ID NCT04715464

Summary

This study looked back at hospital records to see if screening patients for certain hard-to-treat bacteria upon admission could predict who might later get an active infection from those same germs. Researchers analyzed data from nearly 2,900 adult patients to understand if this screening helps improve patient outcomes and control hospital costs related to antibiotic use and length of stay.
