Digital dashboard aims to prevent dangerous blood sugar spikes in hospital

NCT ID NCT05307237

Summary

This study tested whether a new digital system could help hospital staff better manage blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. The system used continuous glucose monitors that wirelessly sent data to a dashboard, allowing staff to remotely monitor many patients at once and quickly spot dangerous highs or lows. Researchers compared this approach to usual care in 518 hospitalized patients to see if it improved blood sugar control and reduced infections.
