Can a smoother hospital trip save frail seniors?
NCT ID NCT06873256
Summary
This study looked at how different ways of admitting frail elderly patients to the hospital affect their health afterwards. Researchers followed 310 patients aged 75+ for 90 days to see if being admitted directly to a ward, versus going through the emergency room, led to fewer returns to the hospital or deaths. The goal was to find the best care pathway to protect vulnerable seniors during and after a hospital stay.
