Can horses help heal the mind? study tests animal therapy for dementia
NCT ID NCT06662578
Summary
This small pilot study explored whether adding horse interaction to standard memory workshops could help people with mild to moderate dementia. Researchers compared three groups: one doing memory activities with horses, one doing traditional memory workshops, and one with no special activities. The goal was to see if the horse-assisted approach better improved participants' thinking skills, mood, and overall quality of life.
