New trial tests Two-Drug combo to fight uterine cancer without surgery

NCT ID NCT02397083

Summary

This study is testing whether a hormone-releasing intrauterine device (IUD) works better alone or combined with an oral drug called everolimus to treat early-stage uterine cancer or a serious pre-cancerous condition. The goal is to see if this approach can control or eliminate the disease, potentially offering a non-surgical treatment option. It involves 102 patients who have not responded fully to the IUD alone after three months.
