Patients test DIY infection checks after heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07200401

Summary

This study is testing whether patients who have had heart surgery can safely and effectively swab their own chest wounds at home to check for infections. Researchers want to see if home swabbing provides good quality samples for lab testing and if patients find the process acceptable. The study involves 40 adults who will receive a swabbing kit, be observed via video call while swabbing, and share their experiences in an interview.
