Can home care beat nursing facilities? major trial tests recovery at home

Summary
This study is testing whether providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation care at home is as good as or better than sending patients to a nursing facility after a hospital stay. It will enroll 650 patients who need this type of care and randomly assign them to receive it either at home or in a facility. The main goal is to see if home care leads to fewer hospital readmissions or deaths in the first 30 days, while also looking at recovery, quality of life, and costs.
