First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This early study tested whether a safe, mild electrical brain stimulation device (tDCS) could be used at home to help with behavioral symptoms like agitation or apathy in people with Alzheimer's disease. Only 3 people took part, and the main goal was to see if the treatment was acceptable and safe. While the results are too small to draw firm conclusions, the approach shows promise for future research.
