First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new robotic walking trainer called Rise&Walk InHome that stroke survivors can use at home. Twenty adults who had a stroke 3 months to 5 years ago will either use the device for 30 minutes, 4 times a week plus usual care, or just usual care. The goal is to see if the device is safe, easy to use, and helps improve walking distance and speed.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide an affordable, home-based option to help stroke survivors improve walking ability and reduce fall risk.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 20 participants. The device may not be effective for everyone, and home use could pose safety or adherence challenges.
