Could a simple headset replace hospital stays for epilepsy testing?

NCT ID NCT05739669

Summary

This small, terminated pilot study explored whether people with epilepsy could use a new, dry-electrode EEG headset at home to record their brain activity. The goal was to see if home recordings were as useful for diagnosis as traditional, wet-electrode EEGs done by specialists in a clinic. Researchers compared the quality of recordings from both systems and checked if patients could successfully use the device on their own for two weeks.
