First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a bright light box at home for 40 minutes each morning can help teens aged 13-17 with major depression feel better. Participants are split into three groups: high-intensity light, medium-intensity light, or a dim red placebo light. The trial lasts 4 weeks with weekly check-ins, plus a 2-week follow-up, and also looks at how light therapy might change brain activity.
