Can computer games at home help heal the brain after injury?
NCT ID NCT06749197
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a home-based computer cognitive training program (RehaCom) can improve attention and memory in adults with acquired brain injury, including stroke. Thirty participants will either receive the home program plus weekly in-person sessions, or standard in-person rehab alone. The goal is to see if blending home training with clinic visits is feasible and effective for recovery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
RehaCom home-based computerized cognitive training program
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a convenient, effective way to boost cognitive recovery after brain injury using home-based computer exercises.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply widely. The home program may not be as effective as in-person therapy for some patients.
