Summary

This study explored whether it is safe and beneficial for mothers to hold their newborns during a specialized cooling treatment for brain protection. Ten stable infants receiving this therapy and their mothers participated. Researchers checked for safety issues and asked mothers and nurses about stress levels and bonding before and after the holding sessions.
