Weekly shot aims to replace daily HIV pill cocktails
NCT ID NCT02859961
Summary
This study tested if a weekly injection called PRO 140 could control HIV by itself for 48 weeks, instead of the standard daily pill combinations. It involved 562 adults whose HIV was already well-controlled on daily medications. The goal was to see if switching to just the weekly shot could maintain virus suppression and simplify treatment.
