Major trial tests best HIV drugs for Late-Stage patients

NCT ID NCT03696160

Summary

This study aimed to find the best HIV treatment for people diagnosed with advanced HIV infection, often called 'late presenters'. It directly compared two different daily pill combinations over one year in 447 patients across Europe. Researchers measured which treatment was better at controlling the virus, helping the immune system recover, and improving patients' quality of life with fewer side effects.
