Friends fighting HIV: new program arms drug users with At-Home tests
NCT ID NCT06848686
Summary
This study is testing a new program called 'Prevention Ambassadors' that works through syringe service programs. It trains people who use drugs to give HIV self-test kits and service information to their friends who also use drugs. The goal is to see if this peer-led approach makes it easier for this high-risk group to get tested and connected to care or prevention medicine like PrEP.
