Summary
This study looks at how HIV-1 hides in immune cells in the gut of people on effective antiretroviral therapy. Researchers will collect blood and colon tissue from 30 HIV-positive volunteers and healthy controls during routine colonoscopies. The goal is to understand why these gut cells die and how they help the virus persist, which could lead to better treatments.
