Personal guides help men stick with HIV prevention pills and shots
NCT ID NCT06200545
Summary
This study tested whether a personal support guide could help men in Malawi continue taking HIV prevention medication (PrEP) for at least six months. The program was offered to 199 heterosexual men who visited a clinic for sexually transmitted infections. Researchers compared how well men stuck with their PrEP—whether pills, shots, or pills taken around sex—when they had a guide versus when they did not.
