First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a specially trained nurse could help more women at risk for HIV learn about and start taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. The study involved 440 women receiving care in OB/GYN clinics. Half got standard care plus the nurse-led program, which included counseling, lab tests, and starting PrEP. The goal was to see if this approach increases awareness and use of PrEP among women.
