Game-Changing shot could replace daily pill for HIV prevention

NCT ID NCT03164564

Summary

This large study is testing if a long-acting injection given every two months works as well as a daily pill to prevent HIV infection in women. It enrolled over 3,200 women at risk for HIV to compare the safety and effectiveness of the two methods. The goal is to offer a more convenient prevention option that doesn't require remembering a daily pill.
