Scientists map how HIV prevention pill works in Women's bodies
NCT ID NCT05140954
Summary
This study aimed to understand the safety and how a daily HIV prevention pill builds up in the body of Kenyan women. Researchers gave 54 HIV-negative women different weekly doses of the pill under direct observation for up to 18 weeks. The goal was to measure drug levels in the blood to create a clearer picture of how well the pill works when taken as prescribed, which will help improve future HIV prevention programs for women.
