New program aims to break down barriers to HIV prevention for black women

NCT ID NCT06703060

Summary

This study is testing a new support program designed to help Black women in Baltimore start taking medication to prevent HIV. The program is specifically tailored to address challenges like intimate partner violence and discrimination that can make it hard for women to access prevention care. Researchers will enroll 300 HIV-negative women to see if the program successfully helps them begin taking daily pills or a long-acting injection for HIV prevention.
