Community clubs and clinics aim to shield girls from HIV

NCT ID NCT03995953

Summary

This study tested a community support program for adolescent girls and young women in Zambia to improve HIV prevention and care. It combined education for girls and their families, youth clubs for peer support, and special wellness clinics offering health services. Researchers measured whether this approach helped more girls get tested for HIV, start and stay on treatment if positive, and adopt safer behaviors to prevent infection.
