Major trial tests new ways to control high blood pressure in HIV patients

NCT ID NCT05609513

Summary

This study tested two different approaches to help people living with HIV better manage their high blood pressure in Uganda. Researchers compared a basic strategy (providing free blood pressure equipment and medications) with an enhanced strategy that also included support from peer champions and adapted clinic routines. The goal was to find a practical, sustainable way to improve blood pressure control and prevent heart disease in this population.
