Cancer drug trial offers hope for HIV 'Cure' - could end daily pills

NCT ID NCT07145164

Summary

This study is testing whether a cancer drug called N-803 (also known as IL-15) can help people with HIV control the virus without needing daily medication. Researchers want to see if stimulating the immune system can change how HIV hides in the body, potentially allowing people to stop their regular HIV drugs temporarily. The study involves 20 participants who will carefully stop their HIV medication under medical supervision to test this approach.
