First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested a smartphone app called 'My Personal Health Guide' that uses a friendly, talking avatar to help HIV-positive African American men (ages 18-34) stick to their medication and keep up with doctor visits. The goal was to see if the app could improve viral suppression and medication adherence by providing private, easy-to-understand support. A total of 315 men who owned a smartphone and had recent detectable virus or adherence problems took part.
