First seen Dec 12, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at how much HIV medication passes from mother to baby through breastmilk. Sixteen mothers living with HIV who chose to breastfeed provided blood and milk samples at 1, 3, and 6 months after giving birth. Researchers measured drug levels to calculate how much medicine the baby might get, helping guide safer breastfeeding practices.
